Spur Privacy Policy

Spur is a lyric studio for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what stays on your device, what limited data leaves it, and how to reach us.

Last updated October 11, 2026

1. Your songs stay on the device

Lyrics, chord charts, notes, and audio recordings are stored on your device. Terrace does not receive your songs, and they are not uploaded to our servers.

If you delete Spur, that local library goes with the app. Export or copy anything you need to keep before you delete it.

2. Information used to run Spur

Spur does not ask you to create an account, and it does not collect your name, email address, or phone number. To run subscriptions and to see which parts of the app are useful, it does send a small amount of anonymous data.

Onboarding answers. During setup, Spur may ask about your songwriting habits, such as experience, writing style, and how often you write. Those answers are stored without your name and are used to shape the app.

Usage. Anonymous events describe what happened, not what you wrote. Examples include opening the app, creating a song, adding a chord, editing lyrics, or viewing the paywall. A lyric edit may include a character count. The words, chord names, and recordings are not included.

Device. Events can include device type, manufacturer, operating system, app version, screen size, and locale.

Approximate location. A general location, such as city, region, country, and an approximate postal code, is derived from the IP address when an event is sent. The IP address itself is not stored. This is not used to identify you.

This usage data is sent to PostHog and tied to a random identifier, not to your name.

3. Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple. Spur does not receive your card number, billing address, or bank details.

RevenueCat helps Spur know whether a subscription or trial is active. It receives a random identifier and purchase status, such as what was bought and whether a trial is running. It does not receive your songs.

4. What we do not share

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. PostHog and RevenueCat receive only the data described above, and only to measure the product and manage access.

If you email us, we receive whatever you put in the message. You do not need to include lyrics or recordings for us to help.

5. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
